Dr Qingyu Gao, Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr Gao's research area mainly involves chunk theory, first language acquisition, second language acquisition, corpus, pedagogy, etc., exploring the process of language acquisition from a cognitive perspective through a combination of theoretical research and teaching experiments. Now my research interest is mainly on discourse analysis through the use of the corpus-based method, trying to provide validation and support for (critical) discourse analysis theories through quantitative analysis of the corpora.

Dr Azar Tajabadi, Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr Tajabadi's research area mainly focuses on the study of individual, social, and cultural factors on language learning and academic achievements in second and/or foreign language education. More generally, my research interests include practitioner research, sociocultural studies, interaction studies, intercultural education, and motivations for language learning.
